Letter from the Editor

Dear Cousins,

With Christmas almost upon us we will soon be entering the 25th year of the Blencowe Families' Association. What a remarkable achievement for a family organisation to continue to grow and consolidate in several countries throughout the world. In that time the newsletter has only had 3 editors. Helen Blincoe Simpson with husband Bob produced the newsletter for many years from America. Jack Blencowe in Oxford took over the publication in 2001 until I began in mid 2006.

After 14 editions of the newsletter, I feel it is time to pass the baton on and ask you to consider taking over the role.

Producing the quarterly newsletter is a time consuming but very rewarding and interesting task. I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement and certainly look forward to meeting many of you in Blencow in June. To finally put faces to the names I have corresponded with will be very satisfying.

Please think about taking over my role as 2010 promises to have a lot to report with the reunion and our 25th anniversary. If you are interested, I suggest you discuss the role with Jack, Peter or myself. It would be advantageous if you were confident in using either Microsoft Publisher or the equivalent Apple program, Desktop Publishing.

I'll take this opportunity to thank you for all your contributions throughout the year. Remember it is your involvement that makes each issue happen.

I wish you a happy Christmas and a healthy and happy 2010.
